Dr. Monroy has a degree on Industrial Engineering from Universidad de Los Andes, Colombia and a PhD on Engineering and Industry from the National University of Colombia.

​

Appointed as an Associate Professor at the National University of Colombia, she has managed the Extension and Research Institutes of the same university. She has led various managing roles within the Colombian Administrative Department of Science, Technology and Innovation: Colciencias, where she currently holds the position of Deputy Director.
