Lina is a medical doctor with special interest in prostate cancer diagnostics and early detection of aggressive prostate cancer. Following work with NGO’s in Colombia to set up an early diagnostic pathway for afro Caribbean men in Choco, Lina came to the United Kingdom to research new and easily accessible methods for men with prostate cancer. 

She has been training as a urological surgeon and is now transitioning to histopathology to understand the mechanisms of tumour evolution using a combination of genomics, digital pathology and machine learning. She is currently writing her PhD dissertation on fluid biomarkers and digital pathology at University College London
